Free 30-day returns and exchanges
Every kit — opened, partially installed, or wasted film and all — returns or exchanges free within 30 days of delivery. We pay the return shipping. No restocking fees, no questions about why. Even professional installers waste film sometimes; if your install didn't go as planned, don't throw anything away.
How returns work
We designed our returns to work like Amazon's: submit your request online, drop the package with any carrier, and for exchanges we ship your new kit as soon as you provide tracking — no waiting for your return to arrive first.
Step 1 — Start your request
Returns and exchanges require a free HMU4TINT account with the same email you used at checkout — this protects everyone from fraud, scams, and abuse, which is exactly what lets us pay return shipping for every honest customer. No account yet? Create one here (takes 30 seconds).
Fill out our return & exchange form (about 2 minutes). Tell us your order number, what happened, and whether you want a refund, exchange, or replacement. If it's an exchange, tell us the vehicle, coverage, or shade you want instead.
Step 2 — Wait for our reply, then pack it up
After you submit, we review your request and reply with what happens next. Most of the time it's a prepaid return label by email — you pay nothing to ship it back. For lower-value kits, we may simply refund you and tell you to keep the film. Either way, don't ship anything back until we confirm.
If we do ask for the return: roll everything back into the original shipping tube — all film pieces (used or unused) plus the original packing, ends capped and taped. The tube and film come back together, packaged with the same care we shipped it with. Returns that are forcefully stuffed into the tube, crushed, or intentionally damaged can't be accepted — that's the one condition that keeps returns free for everyone.
Step 3 — Ship it with your prepaid label and add your tracking number
Print the prepaid label we emailed you and tape it on the tube. No printer? Show the label from your phone at any carrier counter, or reply to your confirmation email and we'll help.
Drop it off at any USPS, UPS, or FedEx location. Then reply to your form confirmation email (or email hmu4tint@hmu4tint.com) with your return tracking number. The moment you give us the tracking number, we ship your exchange kit — you don't wait for your return to reach us.
Step 4 — We take it from there
- Exchanges and replacements: your new kit ships as soon as your tracking number is in — often before your return even lands. We cover the shipping both ways. Price differences are refunded or charged as applicable.
- Sometimes we'll tell you to keep it: when a kit isn't worth the cost of shipping back, we refund without a return — your form response is all we need.
- Refunds: the full product price, issued when your return arrives, to your original payment method. Shipping was already free, so there's nothing deducted.
- Wrong fit for the vehicle info you gave us? Email hmu4tint@hmu4tint.com within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photos — after review we provide a replacement or refund at no additional cost, and we cover all shipping when the issue is our error.
Why we ask what happened
The form asks for the reason and the story. Every return teaches us something — wrong-fit reports help us fix patterns, install struggles help us improve guides and coverage options. It's also how we keep making DIY tint easier for everyone.
Quick answers
Do I need the original tube? Yes — all film pieces and the tube come back together, neatly rolled and packaged. The tube is reused, which is exactly what keeps returns free.
